There is no single screen that catches everything. Apple sees Apple-billed subscriptions; a card statement sees merchant names; PayPal may hold a separate agreement; your phone carrier may include a benefit you are also paying for directly. Work through each source once, then keep the useful result: one list you understand.
1. Make a discovery pass
Apple-billed services
Check the Subscriptions area in your Apple Account for services billed through Apple. This will not include every direct-provider subscription. Apple changes its interface, so use its current subscription management instructions for account-specific steps.
Cards and bank statements
Three months is a better starting point than one. It catches quarterly services and makes repeat patterns easier to spot. A familiar amount is only a clue, though. If a merchant name makes no sense, leave it as “research” until you can match it to a receipt or account page.
Receipts, provider accounts, and payment wallets
Search receipts for invoice, renewal, and subscription. Check provider billing pages and automatic-payment agreements. Look at carrier, employer, and family benefits before paying twice for an included service.
2. Record one useful item per service
| Field | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Provider and plan | Find it again | Cloud storage — 200 GB |
| Price and currency | Compare honestly | $2.99 USD |
| Billing cycle | Annualize cost | Monthly |
| Next renewal | Creates decision time | 18 October |
| Billing path | Avoid cancellation confusion | Apple / provider / wallet |
| Status | Preserve decision | Keep / research / cancel |
Cadora can save a little typing with common service names, cycles, icons, and useful links. It deliberately leaves the price blank. A plausible wrong number is worse than no number at all, so copy the amount from the receipt or provider account.
3. Put every price on yearly scale
Use weekly × 52, monthly × 12, quarterly × 4, semiannual × 2, and yearly × 1. A $9.99 monthly plan is $119.88 per year. A $79.99 annual plan is about $6.67 monthly—but prepaying is only useful if you expect full-year use.
4. Give each item a next move
- Keep: you use it and current value fits current price. Set a renewal reminder.
- Downgrade: lower tier covers real use. Confirm feature and timing changes.
- Pause: service is seasonal. Record a restart condition instead of “maybe later.”
- Replace: alternative genuinely fits after considering migration, privacy, and access.
- Cancel: you would not sign up again today. Use actual billing channel and save proof.
5. Cancel through right channel, then confirm
Where you use a service is not always where it bills. Apple-billed plans are managed through Apple; direct plans through the provider; wallet-billed plans may have their own payment agreement. Deleting an app is not a cancellation. Save the confirmation, note when access ends, and check the next statement. Cadora keeps your record; it does not cancel services or inspect transactions.
Prevent next audit from finding same costs
- Add new service to list same day you start it.
- Give trials two decision reminders before conversion.
- Review upcoming renewals monthly; run deeper audit quarterly.
